As part of our goal to help communities study and celebrate Judaism and connect with other Jews, Kulanu helped young adults from Africa and Latin America apply for and plan some amazing opportunities for Jewish leadership and learning. We are so delighted to be welcoming them to the United States this summer! Many thanks to the Kulanu volunteers who helped in this process, and to the friends and supporters who are hosting our guests before and after their respective commitments.

From the Abayudaya community in Uganda, Sarah Nabagala and Shoshanna Nambi will serve as summer camp counselors at Camp Coleman, a Reform Jewish camp in Georgia (coleman.urjcamps.org), while Yoash Mayende will be a counselor at Berkshire Hills Eisenberg Camp in New York (bhecamp.org).

Kulanu’s relationship with AJU’s Brandeis Collegiate Institute (bci.aju.edu) continues with three Kulanu community members participating in this year’s summer program: Rachman Nachman from Uganda, Rebecca (Rivkah) Orantes from Guatemala, and Natasha Butchart from Zimbabwe.

Post a “Welcome” message on Facebook for our summer visitors and tag Kulanu Inc(www.facebook.com/kulanu) so we can share it with these young travelers. Thank you for helping our community members feel at home!
