Matching Grant Challenge
Greetings!
We are writing to you as a valued supporter of Kulanu to report that Kulanu has received a challenge grant of up to $25,000 from a generous donor for a special media fund. This donor will match every dollar we receive for this fund from now until the end of January, 2014. The funds we raise will be used to publish our semi-annual magazine, KulanuNews, enrich our web site, and build our social media programs – all crucial in bringing attention and help to the communities we support.
To summarize Kulanu’s important media activities that this fund will support: We publish two twenty-four page illustrated magazines each year, and a web site with enormous resources about isolated and emerging Jewish communities around the world. We print and mail 1300 copies of each issue to recent donors and other friends of Kulanu. We send out email notices to 4,000 people for each issue, and we post a notice that the new issue is published on the home page of our web site and on our social media channels.
We maintain and continually enhance Kulanu’s web site, www.kulanu.org, which is used by scholars, teachers, students, travelers, synagogue groups, potential volunteers, donors, and most important, by people in isolated communities who want to connect with the wider Jewish community. The web site includes archives of all of Kulanu’s newsletters/magazines since 1993, and selected articles organized by community. In addition, we maintain and continually enhance our web site, blog, Facebook page, Twitter account, online photo albums, and Youtube channel
This is a wonderful opportunity for Kulanu to double every dollar you contribute to these efforts. Please help us take advantage of this challenge. We literally cannot afford to miss out on it. You can contribute online at www.kulanu.org/donate or by mailing your check made payable to Kulanu, Inc., 165 West End Ave. #3R, New York, NY 10023 USA. Please write “Matching Grant” in the online comment box or on the memo line of your check.
We are grateful for your generous support of Kulanu initiatives that have made such a difference to so many communities around the globe.
With great appreciation,
Harriet
