Bar Mitzvah Brings Coding Classes To Uganda

Logan Miller and his parents Fred Miller and Bess Morrison have a special connection with Uganda, having traveled there this past summer with a group of 20 guests for his bar mitzvah in Uganda, in addition to his US ceremony last fall.

Before his trip, Logan raised funds to buy eight laptops that were donated to the computer labs at two Kulanu-affiliated schools, the Hadassah School near Nabugoye Hill and Tikkun Olam School near Namutumba, both run by the Abayudaya community. Logan’s parents and family friends also donated funds to get high-speed internet at Hadassah School and to hire a local coding (computer programming) teacher. Logan himself will be teaching weekly classes to students there, with planning and oversight by Sadati Mulilo and Jerry Knoppow. Good luck to all the budding techies!
