The five Lemba communities in Zimbabwe, which are the recipients of the Gelfand Food Security Grant, have been busy working on their community farms harvesting wheat and potatoes recently along with the Bedza community.

This past week Modreck Maeresera, the community leader, organized the first distribution of potatoes to the families of the Harare Lemba Synagogue. This added food staple will help ensure food security in the Jewish community.
