A Whirlwind Tour of Emerging Jewish Communities around the Globe
Kulanu’s First Vice President, Bonita Sussman, and her husband, Rabbi Gerald Sussman were scholars-in-residence on Shabbat earlier this month at the Jewish Center of Kew Gardens Hills, located in the New York City borough of Queens.
In addition to informative talks, the weekend services included Jewish melodies from different parts of the world as well as food inspired by the cuisines of India, Africa, and B’nai Anusim (Crypto-Jews).
“Personally, I found the Sussmans’ presentations compelling and inspirational. After listening to their experiences, I came to believe that the mission of Kulanu should rightfully be the template for the Judaism of the future,” shared Rabbi Moshe A. Birnbaum.
