21 Summer Camp Counselors

This summer, Conservative, Reconstructionist, Reform, and JCC camps around the United States welcomed 21 staff members from Africa — 18 were from Uganda, one from Nigeria, one from Zimbabwe/Israel and one Ethiopia/Israel.

“I had a very wonderful summer. My favorite memory was havdallah and my bat mitzvah ceremony at camp because it was amazing,” shared Yonit Nagudi from Uganda (pictured) about her time at Camp Solomon Schechter in Washington.

We are proud of our many partners and friends that helped make it possible for so many to work at Jewish camps this summer, and who welcomed visitors to their synagogues and homes on days off and before and after camp.
