In total, 48 conversions and 6 weddings took place &#8211; believed to be the first-ever Jewish weddings in the country!<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t miss<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jta.org\/2018\/01\/26\/news-opinion\/world\/in-this-west-african-country-a-jewish-community-is-forming\"> this article<\/a> in the JTA by Josefin Dolsten, which tells the story from both Kulanu&#8217;s perspective, and the perspective of Jews from Cote d&#8217;Ivoire. She was very good at introducing our community and summarizing my personal journey. Thank you for your help to our community, other communities, and Judaism.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">We were not born Jewish but we freely chose to become an informed Jew and we assume! The Torah is the Truth! [&#8230;] All those who have stayed and converted feel a Jewish soul!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing us to graft ourselves to Israel, to become Jewish. It is a mitzvah that you have accomplished.
