They made masks, groggers, mishloach manot bags and hamentaschen for Purim, videotaped instructions on how to make these, sent what they made and more materials to Tikvat Israel Congregation in Abuja, Nigeria, and sent Kulanu funds for minigrants to two communities in Uganda and one in Zimbabwe so that they could buy supplies to make similar things.\u00a0Hopefully the children in Africa will then send back pictures of what they did to Ann Arbor!<\/p>\n<p>Here are their written\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/kulanu.org\/archive\/b2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Directions-for-Purim-Projects.docx\">Directions for Purim Projects<\/a>\u00a0or see below. Click here for their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLAbG6QSx00AtV20Tr-MSk4LB-cQYw_eLP\">videos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><b>Purim Mask Making<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>Materials<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Card stock, cardboard, posterboard or foam sheets<br \/>\nMarkers or sharpie markers<br \/>\nStickers or any other decorations<br \/>\nPencils<br \/>\nScissors<br \/>\nHole puncher (can use scissors)<br \/>\nString<\/p>\n<p><b>Directions<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1. Trace mask form on a piece of paper (if available use heavy paper like poster board or cardboard or foam).<br \/>\n2. Cut out Mask, (including eye holes) and make a small hole on each side of the mask.<br \/>\n3. Decorate with markers, crayons and\/or stickers.<br \/>\n4. Tie a string in the side holes of the mask to use to tie around your head!<br \/>\n5. Wear to Megillah Reading or a Purim party.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><b>Purim Groggers (noisemakers)<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Use during Megilla reading when reader says Haman!<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><b><\/b><b>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Materials<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Paper plates<br \/>\nStapler &amp; staples or any kind of tape<br \/>\nSmall rocks or beans<br \/>\nMarkers, stickers or any other decorations<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Directions<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1. Fold a paper plate in half.<br \/>\n2. Staple sides 3\/4 of way (leaving a hole for small amount of rocks or \u00a0\u00a0beans).<br \/>\n3. Insert enough rocks or beans to make noise.<br \/>\n4. Staple shut or tape shut.<br \/>\n5. Decorate using markers, crayons and\/or stickers.<br \/>\n6. Shake your grogger at Megillah reading, whenever you hear the name Haman!<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>Mishloach Manot Bags<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">(Bags are filled with food treats to give to friends and family.)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Materials<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Any kind of bag or small box<br \/>\nMarkers, crayons<br \/>\nStickers or other decorations<br \/>\nHamatanshen, fruit, candies or any other kinds of treats!<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Directions<\/b><\/p>\n<p>1. Choose paper bag or any kind of small bag or box<br \/>\n2. Decorate with markers, crayons and\/or stickers.\u00a0 (Images can include Purim characters, Purim themes, and Purim greetings.)<br \/>\n3. Fill with Hamantashen, cookies, candies and fruit.<br \/>\n4.
