I will have the honor to present the Tenth Annual Dorothy Koppelman Memorial Holocaust Lecture. The topic will be:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSephardic Jews in America and the Holocaust.\u201d<br \/>\n<span id=\"more-659\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The lecture will focus in particular on the responses of Sephardic Jews in the United States to the destruction of their native communities in Greece and the Balkans during the Second World War\u2013a theme previously unexplored by scholars. I will draw on a variety of textual and visual sources, including Ladino (Judeo-Spanish) newspapers, institutional records, private correspondence, memoirs, poetry, and photographs.<\/p>\n<p>The lecture is sponsored by the Julius and Dorothy Koppelman Holocaust\/Genocide Resource Center at Rider University.
