First, a technology grant was given for mobile phones and data to ensure the people can communicate with our office, one another, and gain valuable access to Jewish resources.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Funds were also allocated to a new agriculture project in Apac, an Abayudaya community about four hours from Mbale. This funding will help the community start an agricultural micro-loan program and includes education and advice from an agronomist.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>In addition, KKSY, Kahal Kadosh She&#8217;erit Yisra&#8217;el (Holy Congregation Remnant of Israel), near Putti, Uganda, received funding to start a mask-making business to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus in their community. KKSY had previously received 24 sewing machines from Innovation Africa but only a few women knew how to use these machines and they lacked supplies.
