When I visited Uganda in January, I was thrilled to see the beautiful new Sarah Horowitz Memorial Library at the Abayudaya Elementary School. The building was built by Abayudaya engineer Israel Siriri with funds from American Jewish World Service through a gift from the family of Sarah Horowitz. Sarah had served at this school in 2005 as a volunteer supported both by Kulanu and by AJWS.
I’m proud to say that I filmed and edited my own four-minute video of the children at the Abayudaya Elementary School at the first part of the Friday evening Shabbat service at their brand-new library. Click here to see the video and photos of the library. Your children may especially enjoy seeing these children in Uganda singing Shabbat songs so enthusiastically!
The video is also featured on Kulanu’s new youtube channel, along with videos from communities we work with all over the world.
